Imagine if you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self? I was pondering on that question days before my birthday. Would I say “exercise more!”, “spend less!”, “save more!”, “eat healthier!”. Nothing sounded right until I arrived at this serene, pink sunbathed spot (I couldn’t believe a place that might just resemble heaven is located just less than two hours drive from Sydney!)
Almost right away, I felt a familiar feeling and it was the same feeling I always had whilst strolling in Paris. I know what this means.. It means my whole being is calm and content with everything and it acknowledged that at this very moment, this is exactly where I’m meant to be.
So what would I say to my younger self if I could somehow go back in time?
One. Always be true to yourself. Two. You won’t know how to do this so let me spell it out. Love yourself by respecting your opinions and thoughts, they are important. Be kind to yourself. You will make friends with the wrong people, walk away from them. Be unapologetic about being who you are. You will meet very few precious people who will love you for being you, treasure them. You will make wrong choices, forgive yourself. Lastly, know that whatever happens, every piece will fall into place eventually.
I couldn’t think of a more beautiful place and more precious company than my six-months-old son and my better-half to celebrate the day I turned thirty.
