When I woke up yesterday, I wanted to go to the beach. Late that noon, I had sand between my toes. As I breathed fresh ocean air, I felt so grateful of the incredible blessing that I live in such a beautiful city. Also felt tremendously thankful that I’m beginning to feel like myself again. I know that my Happy Meter is up.
Practicing gratitude means giving ourselves a moment to reflect and to be thankful, about anything and everything in our lives. From simple facts like we are breathing, we are walking, we have food to eat three times daily (unless we are on intentional diet!), anything from basic things that we take for granted to our jaw-dropping achievements. The act of being thankful humbles us and is the key to our happiness.
The most natural time to express gratitude is when we’re doing something that we absolutely love. Mine is during relaxing strolls, few steps in and my mind wanders on. Even on the cloudiest days, the beach is still a happy place and I’m so thankful for this.
